As part of a temporary consortium with Grassi & Crespi, Aedes has been tasked with the restoration and conservation of buildings 7 and 12 of the Manifattura Tabacchi complex in Florence.
The client company, owned by the English Aermont fund and CDP, is overseeing an urban renewal project on an abandoned area covering over 100,000 square metres in the heart of Florence. Its goal is to "give life to a new neighbourhood, channelling the creative energy of fashion, art and design, close to the historic city centre and connected with the world."
Both buildings will be transformed into luxurious residences according to the plans developed by the Patricia Urquiola and Q-Bic studios.
With this important new commission, Aedes is consolidating its presence in Florence and its relationship with the historic Milanese company Grassi & Crespi.
Work is beginning immediately, and the completed buildings will be delivered in February 2024.
