The award of the contract to renovate the ENEL power station in Verampio (VB) underlines Aedes' interest in the redevelopment and renovation of historic and industrial buildings.
The power station was built between 1912 and 1914 and has been declared a site of national cultural interest, being one of the few Italian power plants in operation for more than a hundred years. It is dedicated to Ettore Conti, an entrepreneur and Milanese engineer who was the first to understand the area's potential for energy production. It was designed by the famous architect Piero Portaluppi and is located at the confluence of the River Toce and the Devero torrent, at the top of the Antigorio Valley.
The work carried out by Aedes involves restructuring some of the rooms inside the plant, in order to provide adequate working conditions and functional improvements to the premises.
