Details
Type: Restoration
Where: Torino
Duration: 2017
Description
Restoration of the entire Murazzi, the imposing embankments built from 1873 along the left bank of the River Po, between the Umberto I and Vittorio Emanuele I bridges.
The project was commissioned by the City of Turin and involved the structural consolidation and restoration of all the balusters and steps with anchoring, biocidal treatment, pressure washing, application of consolidating agent to ethyl silicates, grouting and glazing.
Most of the columns have been individually restored, the most damaged ones replaced with new ones in pearl grey Tuscan stone. The structural consolidation of the balusters and stone steps leading down to the Po is also planned.
